How to set a grid system of my own

i have use the example grid for compuation.

but i want to compute a problem of my own,
need i to write the whole dictionaly by hand?

HI, ztdep,

You have to modify blockMeshDict to build your gemoetry and mesh it. Or, you can use netgen to generate Tet mesh of your model (it reads stl/step/igs files).

Hello ztdep,
you can generate the grid in a CAD/Mesh genearation tool. You can convert from the formats reported here: http://www.opencfd.co.uk/openfoam/do...l#x15-920003.6

HI, ztdep,

Save the mesh/BCs to Fluent/CFX/Star-CD format. Then use OpenFOAM conversion utility (check user manual) to convert it to OpenFOAM format. then, you can run the solver.

Yes, in GAMBIT, set the boundary conditions.
However, when imported in OpenFOAM, you'll have to set them again. The converter keeps the BC's names, but not their type.
