I am using a turbulence model for which I have to know the mean velocity (time average). I am currently using the "Umean" option in FOAM. Could anyone please tell me whether "Umean" is a time average or not, and if so, in what time interval interval. I just want to know how FOAM finds the average velocity (Umean) before I use Umean.

Thanks,
Kaushik

Is the turbulence model you are using a RANS model? Like k-epsilon?

I typed 'Umean' in 'fields' belonging to sample. When I sample the data, I guess Foam is finding an average. I wanted to confirm whether this is a time average, and also in what time interval. I am using the oodles solver, Smagorinsky model.
