Fixed Value Zone in OF

Hi Foamers,

As in fluent we can fix the values of a field variable in a fluid/solid zone as in like setting up a BC for the cell values for that particular zone.

As in fluent, the transport eqn for the particular variable in that zone is not solved. Is there a way in OF to model this.

Thanks
Sumeet

As in like MRF and porous zones we add source terms to Ueqn and then adjust the boundary conditions.

Can we do it in similar fashion --

Call the fixed zone in solver like fixedzonesimpleFoam while solving lets say U equation (fixing the values of U variable)

Fixedzone. - don't solve for that variable (UEqn)
Adjust zone - interpolate the internal zone using fixed values as input
Adjust BC's, fix the value in the patches (interfaces between zones)

I did a search but couldn't find anything related

Any suggestions. ??

Compile a new zone

Hi Foamers,

I have managed to define a new fixed value zone on the terms of porous/MRF Zones. However I need to compile this zone so that OF understands this new zone. Compilation methods for applications (solvers), BC's, trubulence models, etc are available.

Is there any guidelines available to compile a new zone. I'll try for myself, any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
Sumeet K.

How you did it?

Hi,

I also want to handle a porousZone as a zone with a fixed value for k, becaus I want to define it with k=0 as a laminar zone.

So can you help me how I schould do it.

Best Regards
Chrisi
