a question of turbulent mixing layer

Hi
I am new to OpenFoam and i want to calculate turbulent mixing layer.
The free-stream Mach number M=0.2;
Re=50;
temperature T=273.15K;
pressure p=100000pa;
equal and opposite free-stream speed U;

I don't know to use which solver?
How to simulate it?

Thank you
Best regards
Jianying

You could use rhoTurbFoam or coodles the first for RANS, the second for LES modelling. These are compressible solvers, probably you can use incompressible solvers if your Mach number is low.

Hi Antonio
Thank you for your answer.
How do I set initial velocity and other conditions?
Are they like conditions of channelOodles?
Thank you

Hi Jianying

You should start with one of the tutorial that you can find in the user/run/tutorial folder. Try with the coodles tutorial (it's a simple step with imposed inlet velocity) and try to change boundary condition; then try to change geometry, modifying the blockMeshDict in the costant directory of the tutorial/coodles dir and running the blockMesh utility.

In the userguide you can find a step by step guide to do something similar for the cavity tutorial.

Hi Antonio
Thank you for your answer.
I will try it .
