Hi all!

in this topic i want to solve a doubt about interFoam solver.
I want to run a simulation with a local-time stepping (LTS) method (https://openfoam.org/release/2-0-0/steady-state-vof/).

When i used that method, i found that the method to solve the equations is CrankNicolson Scheme, wich is a implicit and numerically stable.

Also, i found that the solver to "alpha water" used MULES wich is a semi implicit method that used a max courant number.

My question is, the solver to alpha water is used to a intersection of the phases only? how this solver works? There are a relation between this two solvers that i mentioned? My mayor restlessness is that a implcit method dont use a courant number because his stability dont needem, but then other method used one.

I very confusing about this, if anione can help me with and explication or document to read, i'd be very thankfull.
