solver for simulate droplet flow in microfluidics
Hi Foamers,
I am interested in simulating droplet and bubble flow in microfluidic devices, where the channels/tubes have dimensions in the range of millimeters and hundred of microns. Under this conditions, the droplets/bubbles have dimensions similar to the channels, and in some conditions they ressemble Taylor Bubbles. After reading the description of all OpenFoam solvers that deal with multiphase flow, I believe that the best options are inteFoam and interDyMFoam, and there compressible fluids versions, as I planned to study droplets of compressible flows later. Am I right, or any other solver, either from the official version or the developers version, is more suitable for the things I want to do? Also, where I can find some information about interFoam and the equations implemented in the solver? Any Thesis, report, article, even case study, will be much appreciated. Regards, António Martins |
