Different response from 1.5 and 1.6 version of sonicFoam solver

Hi Foamers

I am trying to simulate a travelling pulse across the pipe using sonicFoam solver. While using OpenFoam-1.6 version, I have noticed that the pulse is traversing in quite an odd way. However with same set-up and boundary conditions (in fact everything same) the older openfoam-1.5 version is giving nice velocity profile. So, in short, the soncifoam solver of old OF-1.5 version is working good but not the newer OF-1.6 version

See the attach picture for the comparision.

Can anybody tell me where things are going wrong?

why the new sonicfoam solver behaving so odd?

see the boundary conditions given below.

for pressure:
dimensions [1 -1 -2 0 0 0 0]; internalField uniform 100000; boundaryField { inlet { type zeroGradient; } outlet { type fixedValue; value uniform 100000; }
For Velocity:

boundaryField { inlet { type timeVaryingUniformFixedValue; value uniform (0 0 0); outOfBounds clamp; // (error|warn|clamp|repeat) fileName "inletu.dat"; } outlet { type outletInlet; outletValue uniform (0 0 0); value uniform (0 0 0); }regards,
Nishant
