Interpolation Schemes and Limiters

I am trying to understand the syntax for specifying the interpolation scheme used for convection in the fvSchemes file. I tried putting in an incorrect specifier so that OpenFOAM would give me all of the possible options, so I have all of those.

I specifically want to know what exactly is happening if I specify the convection of a term to be something like "Gauss MinMod." MinMod (or vanLeer, OSPRE, SuperBee, etc) is the limiter, but what scheme is the limiter being applied to? I also see the specifier "limitedWith." Is it more appropriate to specify the scheme as follows: "MUSCL limitedWith MinMod", or is that completely wrong syntax?

If someone could give a good brief description of how this work, that would be much appreciated.

Ata,

Thanks for the reply. To which version of the user's manual are you referring? I have the version 1.6 manual and U-133 does not have the information that will help me. I have looked through both the User's manual and Programmer's Guides and there is no reference to the "limitedWith" specifier and how it is used. If you have a version of the manual with this information, please let me know where I can find that version.

Thank you,

Matt
