interFoam in 1.6.x, solver's slightly changed from 1.5; is p = pd?
Dear foamers,
I have been using 1.6.x and the interFoam/compressibleInterFoam for a pipe flow, and the results look satisifying. However, the pressure values seem to be way too low. Comparing to previous OF releases, the pressure field is now used as 'p', not as 'pd'. Does this mean that solver has changed, or is the 1.6 'p' equal to the 1.5 'pd'? Can I still use the 1.5-dev interFoamPressure-utility, or won't this be necessary? Thanks. |
Hi, Kjetil.
Please refer to the release note for version1.6; http://www.opencfd.co.uk/openfoam/do...Notes-1.6.html 5.1 Solver restructuring pd replaced by static pressure p. All solvers in which buoyancy affects might be strong have been converted from using pd to p with improved numerics to give equally good accuracy and stability. This change is prompted by the need to remove the confusion surrounding the meaning and purpose of pd. |
