Pointwise to OpenFOAM Tutorial – Minor Losses through a Pipe Elbow

Hi.
I came across the attached tutorial of using Pointwise and OpenFOAM on an elbow case (unsteady turbulent). Please see attached a PDF (link). I did assume that the mentioned example and results are right and accordingly and I did everything as exactly mentioned. 1- The tutorial uses tutorial pitzDaily as a base file. The solver here is simpleFoam. It says that simpleFoam is unsteady solver which contradicts openFoam guidelines. How is that? 2- Also, I keep getting an error related to the floating point. Please see attached a screenshot. What might have gone wrong here? I have tried the same inputs on pisoFoam but I get the same results *I am using openFoam on ubuntu using a VM on windows 11. Thank you. |
