Hard to say given that the only know I think are the solver you're using and the type of the BC's :D

I can only say you need a number that makes your solution converge.

I made some investigations and I think that I will keep rhoPisoFoam + SLTS. This duo gives me the best convergence/accuracy/speed.

Hello truong_nm,

i am quite new to OF so dont know much about it. Can you please tell me how to make this "rhoPisoFoam + SLTS" thing work?? how to set it up?? What needs to be modified??

Thank you,

Ngoc-Minh Truong: It seems you have good experience in OpenFoam. I am very new to it. I want to solve steady state airoil problem for Mach 0.3 to 0.9. I am very confused with the solver. Can you suggest me suitable solver?

Take a look at rhoCentralFoam.

Entered in error, my apologies.

@daniel: I received the notification of your comment. rhoCentralFoam has turbulence models in OF 2.0.x, while it did not have them in previous versions. :-)

cyclic boundary conditions in sonicFoam!

Has anybody ever used cyclic boundary conditions in sonicFoam?
I have used them in mhdFoam ( a solver for magnetohydrodynamics (MHD): incompressible, laminar flow of a conducting fluid under the influence of a magnetic field.). As far as this solver concerned, everything worked well! Nevertheless, when I tried to use cyclic boundary conditions in sonicFoam I had errors!I don`t know how can I write the cyclic boundary conditions for the pressure. I have a 2-D cavity.

For example in sonicFoam/laminar/forwardstep/0/p:
outlet
{
type waveTransmissive;
field p;
phi phi;
rho rho;
psi psi;
gamma 1.4;
fieldInf 1;
lInf 3;
value uniform 1;
}

when I want to declare it as cyclic , I can write:

outlet
{
type cyclic;
}
But I have errors! :(

Could everybody help me?
Thanks in advance!

Thank you, Alberto, for clearing that up.
