interFoam vs icoFoam on a single-phase case

Default interFoam vs icoFoam on a single-phase case

Hi, i m trying to simulate a single phase flow normal to a flat plate and analyzing the forceCoeffs. I ran the case on interFoam (setting one single value of alpha on the entire field and as i see in log file it doesn't solve the alpha equation as i expected) and icoFoam. The result is different: what is the cause of this divergence ?? I ran the lid driven cavity case using the two codes but in that case the solutions are the same.

interFoam: maxCo && maxAlphaCo = 0.5/0.05

I attach the graph


EDIT : using a constant deltaT in interFoam i obtain a solution equal to icoFoam's one

Hi,

I'm running into the similar issue of getting different results for a single phase flow case using the icofoam and interfoam solvers, when I tried to solve the problem of a gas jet perpendicularly impinging a plane with the same mesh. I wonder if anybody can explain what is wrong here. Thanks.
