Modeling Stirling Engine

We are trying to decide what solvers and models to use for an openfoam simulation of a stirling engine.

We are just getting started and are using the rhoPorousMRFPimpleFoam (mostly due to the regenerator) and the hPsiThermo model for the working fluid.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks

Kilovolts,

I'm curious, have you gotten a model of the stirling engine working? I'm trying to model a Pulse tube cryocooler (similar to Stirling cooler) and I'm having trouble implementing the regenerator. Could you please help me out with this. I'm using ICEM and Fluent v12

Much Thanks,
Zdeth
