Max Courant Exceeded in First Iterations

The max Courant number set in ControlDict seems to be exceeded in the first few iterations, and the flow field looks just plain crazy intitially (extremely high pressures, etc.). After a few iterations the simulation follows the set max Courant number and the pressure, etc. magnitudes start to get lower and lower to more reasonable values. However, the simulation still eventually diverges.
Are the initial extreme values normal? (I am doing an external-flow turbomachinery simulation) Are they at least one of the convergence issue culprits? |
