Hi guys

I`ve a problem running a rhoPisoFoam case on 1 Core. The following error will appear:

Selecting turbulence model type RASModel
Selecting RAS turbulence model SpalartAllmaras

new cannot satisfy memory request.
This does not necessarily mean you have run out of virtual memory.
It could be due to a stack violation caused by e.g. bad use of pointers or an out of date shared library
Abroted

If I run the case on 8 Cores the Error is much more ugly (I'll post the log later on). Can somebody help me please?

Hi Goma,
I think it is a problem with the ram size. I used to recieve the same error when I was generating a large mesh on my local machine with a 4 gb ram. Then i moved to a 8 gb ram and then I could generate a mesh without the error.

Though I never recieved this error while running a simulation.

So I am not sure why you recieve this error while submitting a job.

Hi
I also think it's a RAM Problem but it's interesting because I've 12 Gig on my Simulation PC and in Linux the RAM Is split in 3 Gig RAM and 9 Gig Swap.
I think thats the problem, so I have to find out how to adjust it?!

Hi Manuel,
Just one suggestion if you are using a 32 bit Linux, try switching to 64 bit . Because I run my simulation on 64 bit Ubuntu 9.10 and Every thing runs smooth even with meshes of 6 million cells.

And on the cluster as well we have a 64 bit Debian .
