Comparing compressible tutorial logs, biconic vs forwardStep

Using the rhoCentralFoam solver, the biconic25-55Run35 tutorial automatically logs rho and U information upon running, like so:
Code:

Mean and max Courant Numbers = 0.0012920864784495 0.497600587795793
deltaT = 3.89459662217963e-10
Time = 9.96105e-08

diagonal:  Solving for rho, Initial residual = 0, Final residual = 0, No Iterations 0
diagonal:  Solving for rhoUx, Initial residual = 0, Final residual = 0, No Iterations 0
diagonal:  Solving for rhoUy, Initial residual = 0, Final residual = 0, No Iterations 0
diagonal:  Solving for rhoUz, Initial residual = 0, Final residual = 0, No Iterations 0
smoothSolver:  Solving for Ux, Initial residual = 9.75670512743737e-07, Final residual = 9.54800213661884e-12, No Iterations 2
smoothSolver:  Solving for Uy, Initial residual = 1.2348036560941e-06, Final residual = 2.57085765664881e-11, No Iterations 2
smoothSolver:  Solving for Uz, Initial residual = 4.89968196783422e-05, Final residual = 2.09454806915165e-12, No Iterations 2
diagonal:  Solving for rhoE, Initial residual = 0, Final residual = 0, No Iterations 0
smoothSolver:  Solving for e, Initial residual = 1.2461515340186e-06, Final residual = 1.77372326022229e-10, No Iterations 2
ExecutionTime = 67.57 s  ClockTime = 67 s

Whereas the rhoCentralFoam forwardStep tutorial logs only rho, as follows:
Code:

Mean and max Courant Numbers = 0.0531236 0.19895
deltaT = 0.000392614
Time = 1.36427

diagonal:  Solving for rho, Initial residual = 0, Final residual = 0, No Iterations 0
diagonal:  Solving for rhoUx, Initial residual = 0, Final residual = 0, No Iterations 0
diagonal:  Solving for rhoUy, Initial residual = 0, Final residual = 0, No Iterations 0
diagonal:  Solving for rhoE, Initial residual = 0, Final residual = 0, No Iterations 0
ExecutionTime = 81.9 s  ClockTime = 82 s

Since I'm running into errors with my own rhoCentralFoam simulations (using a modified forwardStep tutorial setup), I'm interested in seeing how U is behaving, but obviously it doesn't show up. At first I compared the input files for both tutorials in /constant, /system and /0, but found no clear reasons there, so now I've gone searching through the source code but haven't yet found anything there either.

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious. Can anyone tell me why rhoCentralFoam prints U messages for one case and not the other?

The first one is a viscous case while the second one is inviscid.
