Hello!

I have a case that runs fine with the sonicDyMFoam solver and the oscillatingDisplacement boundary condition for the part of the mesh that is moving. Now I want to try the sixDoFRigidBodyDisplacement boundary condition for the moving part instead, and I look at the pimpleDyMFoam/wingMotion tutorial to understand how it works. But the following happens;

Create time

Create mesh for time = 0

Reading thermophysical properties

Selecting thermodynamics package ePsiThermo<pureMixture<sutherlandTransport<specieT hermo<eConstThermo<perfectGas>>>>>
Reading field U

Reading/calculating face flux field phi

Creating turbulence model

Selecting turbulence model type LESModel
Selecting LES turbulence model oneEqEddy
oneEqEddyCoeffs
{
ce 1.048;
Prt 1;
ck 0.094;
}

Creating field DpDt

Selecting motion solver: displacementLaplacian

--> FOAM FATAL IO ERROR:

FOAM exiting

Can anyone give me a hint on why? The patch type is wall in the tutorial...

Best regards
Anders

Hi Anders,

your question has been asked before.

have a look here:

http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...erdymfoam.html

I know in this topic it hasn't been solved, but maybe you could ask these two guys if they have a solution to your problem.

regards
Colin
