Hi all,
i 'm working with chtMultiRegionSimpleFoam and want to implement new thermophysicalProperties. Thats the code i used until now Code:
thermoType hRhoThermo<pureMixture<constTransport<specieThermo<hConstThermo<incompressible>>>>>; mixture water 1 18 1000 4181 0 959e-6 6.62; and now i want to use that one to make cp / rho temperature dependend Code:
// thermoType hRhoThermo<pureMixture<icoPoly3ThermoPhysics>>; // mixture // water 1 18 // rhoPolynomial (1000 0 0) // 0 // 0 // CpPolynomial (4181 0 0) // muPolynomial (959e-6 0 0) // kappaPolynomial (145e-6 0 0) Read in the UserGuide about icoPoly4ThermoPhysics - but there is nothing. Using OF-1.7.x and the code is in the multiRegionLiquid case. and what 's kappa ? I compare all values with my table of water and think that mu is the dynamic viscosity - rho and cp is clear but what 's kappa did someone know how to use this ? Best reguards Tobi |

Hi
this is a guess; to be sure have a look at the code. kappa is called isothermal compressibility coefficient and is defined as -1/v * (dv/dp)@T=constant, where v is the spec. volume. Have a look at a thermodynamics book e.g. “Thermodynamik kompakt” page 53 (sorry for the german reference ) Kappa is needed to calculate psi Regards, Christian |
