Hi guys,

I hope this discussion is not too late.
Is there anybody who has experience in importing the turb from another separated simulation at the inlet?
Question 2 is, I wonder how you guys check your turb inflow quality? By spectrum, correlation, friction coefficient, transition, coherent structures or what? Any ideas?
I read some papers on this, but I'd still like to hear your valuable experience. Thanks

(PS: please identify your turbulence type, channel turb, boundary layer turb, or others)

Best Regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Which papers have you read? Can you suggest one? How do you usually generate initial turbulent field? I need initial turbulence for my channel-flow like simulation (geometry is little bit complicated).

Thanks,
Dejan

Search for Dr. Tabor and Dr. Mohammad paper, and go to his reference section, it will have almost everything you need. It's a good review.
