Basic CFD / Open foam theories

I am trying to teach myself CFD as well as Openfoam which is proving difficult. I know this is probably a dumb question however im going to ask it anyways.
Does OpenFoam solve turbulence modeling through mainly Finite Difference methods, Finite volume Methods or other discretization methods?
Any help or information would be useful

Gabbee

Hi Gabbee,
OpenFOAM uses the finite volume method. You can find information about the algorithms in the programmers guide and in Dr. Hrvoje Jasak's thesis.
