OpenFOAM and twisted flow in cyclone unit
 
Hi All!
I have a problem with OpenFOAM. I'm trying to simulate the twisted flow in a cyclone unit. Results of OFs work (fig. 1) different from the results obtained in Fluent and experiment. (fig. 2). Tell me please, what am I doing wrong?

Hi all

Did anyone find the reason/solution for this ? I also face the same issue.I tried with different solvers like MPPICFoam, DPMFoam and rhoSimplecFoam. Non of them defined cyclone velocity profile properly. Also according to the literature there are regions where velocity is higher than the inlet velocity, in my one no such areas.

Cyclone info.
D=0.2m
mesh contain more than ~ 43632 cells.
Inlet velocity 20 m/s

I have found the solution but only for simple/pimple/pisoFoam. To get normal results it's necessary to use limited schemes or linearUpwind scheme for divSchemes. Unfortunately I can't describe any details because I quit from my previous job and now I don't work with computational fluid dynamics.
