Greetings Foamers,

I'm using OpenFOAM 2.1.0 and I have to simulate the flow between the stator and rotor in a gas turbine (axial) in 2D. I'm relatively new to OpenFOAM so this might be a basic question but I've searched all over the internet and i just can't figure out what to do.

Basically, I need to make the rotor rotate or in my case (2D), I need it to move in a relative frame of reference (translation).

I'm attaching a picture which presents my approach to the solution (the geometry). So, my question is: Can I do this with sliding interface and if I can, how?

1) When writing the blockMeshDict, do the boundaries of the domains of the stator and rotor have to be connected or set apart?
2) How do I name the boundaries? What type?
3) How do I describe (in which folder?) the motion of the rotor domain

Thanks in advance!
