I have a model of human airway tree and I want to mesh inside of the model for flow simulation inside it. I am using flange tutorial of snappyhexmesh.
When I am making the mesh, it is making the mesh inside the geometry as well as inside the bounding box. But I need it only in the geometry.

I am attaching the screenshot for your reference. Please look into it and help.

The first picture is of my geometry needed to be meshed.
Second picture is of mesh which is getting created.

You may need to post your snappyHexMeshDict file to evoke support on the forum.
Are you sure you're providing the position correctly (inside the airway tree) in 'locationInMesh' parameter?

Here I am attaching my snappyHexMeshDict file for reference. I am not sure I have done what you said. I am very new to OpenFOAM. Please look into it.

Is the point 'locationInMesh (-9.23149e-05 -0.0025 -0.0025);' inside your 'airway tree' geometry?

When I check the bounding box of the geometry using 'surfaceCheck' command in the bounding box this point was not included. So I can say that the point you mentioned is not inside my geometry.

Does this point 'locationInMesh (-9.23149e-05 -0.0025 -0.0025)' needs to be inside the geometry or inside the box created in blockMesh?

Yes the locationInMesh point should be inside your fluid domain that you intend to mesh. I would suggest that you look at a few snappyHexMesh tutorials.

With your help, I am able to make mesh inside my geometry. I am attaching the screenshot with this post.

But the mesh which is created is very coarse and I need to refine it a lot so that it can take small features of my geometry too.
How can I refine my mesh?

To refine the mesh you can work both with blockMeshDict and snappyHexMeshDict, however all of this information is available in basic-intermediate tutorials. Have a look at the motorBike tutorial in OpenFOAM to begin with.
