Scramjet+Ramjet Intake Simulation

Hi all,

I want to simulate Scram+ram intake for the Mach no. range of 3-6. Which available solver is best suited for my simulation

The complexity of the simulation is, the system (Dual combustion Ramjet Engine configuration) has both Scramjet+Ramjet intake together and they are open in the whole operating range i.e. M=3-6.

Ramjet intake decelerates the flow from supersonic to low subsonic around 0.4-0.3, where Scramjet decelerates the flow to M>1.

Also i am looking for any validation case to test the solver.

Thanks
KGN

Any help ???

This is a very broad question.

For only scramjets, it is very sensitive to turbulence models, especially the k-omega based models lead to unstart of the inlet, whereas one equation Spalart Allmaras leads to more close behaviour with Experiments.

For only ramjets, the sensitivity is less as compared to scramjets.

A dual operating engine would be challenging, but the limiting sensitivity would be then based on scramjets.

Wat about using SST k-w model for turbulence and rhoCentralFoam solver for scramjet analysis.

SpalartAllmaras would be better choice for Turbulence.

do you have validation case for "Scramjet & Ramjet Inlets" separately or
Scram+ram intake together i.e. Dual combustion ramjet intake
