Default Numbering of cells for surfacefirleds

Does anyone know how the surfacescalarfields are numbered in of. For example, for a surfacescalarfield like phi, which location does the phi[celli] exactly refer?

See the polymesh folder in constant folder of one tutorial. I think you can explore your answer.
