Hi foamers!

I tried to modify the cavity case used by User Guide to a axis-symmetric hagen-poiseuille flow case.
Firstly I modified my mesh following the OF wiki's instruction: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Ma...s/AxiSymmetric
I attached my mesh result. It seems strange to me because it's actually not a "symmetric" mesh, it's just a collapsed hex mesh.

Then I modified boundary type of p and U in 0 directory. I applied the "wedge" type to both p and U on frontAndBack face. And I finished modified other boundary type to suit a hagen-poiseuille flow case.

I run icoFoam and the result is rather unfamiliar to me. I cant get the classic parabolic velocity profile.

Is it because my mesh was wrong? Or there was sth. i missed during setting the case?
Plz help!!

Hi HouKen,

Could you provide 'blockMeshDict' and the U file, please? It will help me understand what's going on.

Thanks!

I found out one of the problems is, I should order the vertices in blockmeshdict so that the face on the hex bottom will collapse, instead of the "side" face.
Now here is my new mesh.
