I am using the native windows version of openfoam.

When I click on paraview, it says to go into tools->manageplugins->extensions, and load plugins libPV3FoamReader and libPV3FlamReader_SM. Paraview then loads but doesn't open the example (3D view is blank except for axes and none of the drop down box options were populated (with items such as magnitude and surface).

Unfortunately, I can't follow these instructions since the only thing that appears in my options menu is paraview and openFOAMconsole.

Greetings dsoodak and welcome to the forum!

The "OpenFoam Designer" was (AFAIK) a proof of concept that never got of the ground, possibly made by someone or a couple of people that were working on a master's degree. As was the whole project at http://sourceforge.net/projects/openfoam-mswin/
It has not been updated since it was released back in 2009.

Nonetheless, you can find some more information about it here: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...r-windows.html

But still, I suggest that you try a more up-to-date project such as blueCFD-SingleCore instead: http://code.google.com/p/bluecfd-singlecore/
For more information on how to install ParaView to work with it, you can also browse this thread: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...ease-help.html

For even more information about OpenFOAM on Windows, you'll find a lot of information here: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...n-windows-mac/

Best regards,
Bruno

thanks!
I've actually found "designer" pretty helpful even in its unfinished form. I'll take a look at the links you posted.
