reisiduals in simplefoam

I am working with a unstedy version of simpleFoam. The vale of residuals calculated using the "initialResidual()" command (like PeqnResidual = pEqn.solve().initialResidual()for pressure) is different from the value of final residuals reported in the log file (ex. DICPCG: Solving for p, Initial residual = 0.00111906, Final residual = 9.36366e-07, No Iterations 116). Shouldn't they be the same? I mean, does the initialResidual() gives the final residual for each parameter given by the linear solver?
