Map data from a big to a small domain in OpenFOAM
 

Hi, I have data from a course grid OpenFOAM simulation for a domain of size (X=0-10 m, Y=0-5 m, Z=0-10m). Now I want to focus on a small section of the same domain (X=0-2 m, Y=0-1 m, Z=0-2 m) and simulate it with a much finer grid. I was wondering whether there is way to map the results in to the small section from the already available course grid results. The idea is to use it as an initial condition to reduce computing time. Thanks a lot.

This should be possible using the mapFields utility. See the user guide on how to use it.
