I wanna know why the post processing utility 'R' does not work until and unless the solver says for example "SIMPLE SOLUTION HAS CONVERGED" even though the residuals drop to whatever..... I cannot change the code since I work in a university. I need some solution to this....Any help would be appreciated...thanks

There are other ways to get R but would want this thing to work...why do I have to wait till the solver says bla bla bla

only converges with simplefoam if div(U) is calculated with the scheme "linear upwind" which is 1st order

Why doesn't OpenFOAM have R -latestTime??

Greetings choudhury,

You can compile your own copy of the R application, on your own account. As an example, follow the instructions from this tutorial: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Ho...ure_to_icoFoam

Best regards,
Bruno

Hi. Thanks a lot ! I have no issues with calculation of R with K-E model..but for SST it just calculates for time 0. Most of the time it doesn't work...initial conditions by Seegmiller and Driver for BFS...Also compilation can't be done on the cluster...I have been using OF for quiet a while..but never been able to understand why R isn't working for SST.. The fvSchemes file has div(phi,R), div(R) ..and so on

Hi choudhury,

I had a quick look to how R works and in OpenFOAM 2.1.x is does have the "-latestTime" option and it worked for a quick test I did.
Which version of OpenFOAM are you using on the cluster?

Best regards,
Bruno
