Need a solver for a trans-sonic simulation

Hi All,

I have been running a simulation of a land speed vehicle at several differents speeds using sonicFoam. This works very well, until the Mach number is less than 1 (ie: subsonic). I have tried rhoSimpleFoam and rhoCentralFoam and they do not give me results either.

Can anyone suggest a solver that I can use for mach numbers between 0.8 and 1?

I have no mesh motion if this helps.

Thanks in advance!!

regardless of the transonic switch?

Sorry, I do not understand what you mean?

I won't be using this solver above Mach 1.

In the SIMPLE dictionary in fvSolution
you can set

transonic on;
or
transonic off;
If you dont specify it, it is set to off by default and that is what you have been using, but Im just wondering
if it will work better if you set it to on...even if you run subsonic, you might not be subsonic
in the iterations leading up there.

btw, this is just for the rhoSimpleFoam solver
