I would like to simulate the bed morphology. There is one moving boundary(sea bottom) in the computation domain. The movement (Ux, Uy, Uz) of that boundary is determined by Exner equation and changes with time. 1. Could movingConeMotion in icoDyMFoam in OF-1.5-dev solve the problem I mentioned before? 2. If so, in dynamicMeshDict, does twoDMotion mean that there are two direction movements of the boundary mesh points?How can I transfer the movement of the boundary to the solver? Which boundary condition should I use? 3. If no, could you help to suggest which way I should go? Thanks Linda |

Thanks. I read Dr. Liu's thesis and paper. However, I am wondering whether there is a tutorial as this case. Does it take longer time to do the tactics or not? regards Linda |

Hi, I think we are doing the similar work, I know some method of modeling morpholoy migration,such as Two-phase, FAM & automesh deformation , etc. But I think the classic method is moving mesh according Exner equation(sediment continuty), because the interface between the water and riverbed is sharp and not the mixture, so I don't think the FAM or two - phase method are appropriat for your project.I just know the theory about this method (I have read XiaofengLiu's paper) . However, I don't realize it. Because my knowledge on C++ is poor Now , i have been working on the sediment transport, especially on the bed load. If you have interest, we can communicate with each other, looking for your reply.
