Hi Foamers!!

I want to start exploring the world of fluid-structure interaction.
Where do I start?
With regards to OpenFOAM I know there is a icoFsiFoam in the extend repo. Could anyone give me some useful information about the same.

Cheers
Akshay

Hi Akshay,

there is various FSI material from previous OF workshops

http://sourceforge.net/projects/open...ningSlides.tgz
Fluid Structure Interaction Simulations with OpenFOAM; M. Lombardi from 7th OF workshop

http://sourceforge.net/projects/open...SlidesOFW7.pdf
Partitioned strongly coupled Fluid-Structure Interaction; M. Kosel, U. Heck

http://openfoam-extend.sourceforge.n...m/training.htm

Multi-Zonal Multi-Physics Modeling: FSI and Congjugate Heat/Mass Transfer,
R. Campbell and B. Craven, PSU => download Slides and Files

And maybe this "block-coupled solvers" by I.Clifford

FSI material was found even at the 2nd OF workshop but I am not sure what the 8th OF workshop provided http://www.openfoamworkshop2013.org/...p?Main=2&sub=1
, but I would look at the "coupled-solver" material this time

Does anyone have information about the code hosting location of Manuel Kosel's generic partitioned FSI solver?

The 7th Workshop presentation indicated it would be kicking around. I visited the website but my German is nonexistent and faith in Google Translate incomplete.

Hi,

there is a http://www.dhcae-tools.de/Contributions.html page but all the stuff comes from Martin Becker so it is not what you are looking for.

User ulli (Ulrich Heck Head of DHCAE) http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/members/ulli.html does not visit this forum to often so you should contact him on his company website and ask him if there are some contributions on FSI are on their way.

User http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/members/martinb.html is very active on this forum, I am not aware if he is still at DHCAE
