Parabolic profile.

Hello,

I am new to open foam,i made a geometry for a rectangular duct in Blockmesh dict.With all fixed walls.I need parabolic velocity profile for my rectangular duct.Can any one help me with this

Attached are the files for P and U.Here i am using laminar icoFoam solver.

i understood that you want such profile as input for solver. you have three options.
1-using groovy BC.
2- using polynomial BC (i am not about it ).
3- using another software to give you values of velocity at each height for your profile,but number of points must be equal for number of cells in y direction in your mesh. also number of cells in z direction must be one. then use nonuniform instead of uniform in velocity bc at your inlet.

ex:
inlet
type fixedValue;
value nonuniform
number of cells
(
values each on in single line
);

I thank you for the reply,

But you mentioned other software,do you mean ansys fluent ?

Groovy bc

But i am not sure how to implement groovy bc for laminar solver(Icofoam),could you please guide me through this ?

no i mean software like excel. only software to give you values on some points for your equation.
