space average in Openfoam

Dear All,

In openfoam, is it possible to do a space averaging? For example, for a 3D cylindrical computational domain of a jet, it is axi-symmetric. So I would like to do an averaging with respect to the plane crossing the axis. How can this be realized in openfoam? Thank you very much.:confused:

You can do it with paraview : create a slice of your cross section then use "intergrate variable" and divide by the cross section surface.

Best,
Cyp

Thank you very much for your help. I tried this method but my target is as follows:

The computational domain is 3D cylindrical, and the streamwise corresponds to the axis. Since the flow is axi-symmetrical, I would like to do an averaging along the circumferential direction. In other words, I need to make lots of streamwise planes and then average the physical quantities with the same radius. It seems that the IntegrateVariable only give me the mean quantity just for that surface.

I really appreciate if you could give me some details. Thank you very much.

You might be able to use one of these:
