Dear All,

I am trying to figure out how refineMeshDict works and I am having some trobles.

If you download the attached archive and run

Code:
blockMesh && refineMesh
you get a cube divided in 10 cells in each direction. But what I meant to do was to start from a 5x5x5 cube (and I did this) and then refine in the y-direction only.

What's wrong with what I am doing?

Thanks for any help,
Samuele.

You need the -dict flag for refineMesh, otherwise it will just refine everything. (This is also seen in the log of refineMesh, where it says, "Refining in all directions" or something like that).
