Hey everyone,

I am trying to do my first combustion case in OF 2.1.0. I have chosen HM1 flame as my test case. I have seen the presentation by Gschaider&Rehm where they have used Cantera + OpenFoam on the same case.

http://www.opensourcecfd.com/confere...haiderRehm.pdf

I have already successfully run Sandia propane jet which is a mixing case without any reaction with reactingFoam(reactions turned off).

I have a question regarding reactions for the bluff body flame. The jet consists of CH4 and H2 (1:1) at 118 m/s and the co-flow Air vel is 40 m/s.
what should be the in the reactions file for this case?

Is it a single step reaction like this
species
(
O2
H2O
CH4
CO2
N2
);

reactions
(
irreversibleArrheniusReaction
CH4 + 2O2 = CO2 + 2H2O
(5.2e16 0 14906)
);

And for the thermo file which input file should I use? (GRI Mech 3.0 file with multiple species and multiple reactions?)

I hope someone can give some tips regarding this.

Hello,

Nice to hear that you have done Sandia propane jet case successfully. I am now starting to run the Sandia propane jet case. I will not run this case with reactingFoam but with another solver which I obtained from my professor.

My problem is that I am stuck in meshing of the case because I am new to OpenFoam. Actually I am stuck in defining a patch for inlet of propane in blockmeshDict. Also I have no idea about how to define the boundary conditions for propane and air. Can I get some help with meshing and case setup? It would be really helpful for me if you can share your case .
Thanks in advance
