OpenFOAM based game - flight simulator.

I would like to experiment a little with gamedev, but I know just a bit of CFD and I was wondering - is it possible to use OpenFOAM as basic physic engine? Basically, what do I need - calculation of lift, pressure (for destruction of elements after critical speed) and drag. Also, I would like to have a proper blade simulation to have advanced realistic behaviour. I suppose that for jet engines I could have more simple model (like a few parameters, force, consumption etc.) without losing too much of realism. I thought that with reducing the complexity of basic mesh I could go real-time without a lot of side effects and still having enough computing power for graphics engine. I suppose that for small planes I can use incompressible flow, but for advanced jets I should use compressible flow. Idea is to have the most possible realism but not to load a CPU too much for calculations. What do you think of these? Thank you a lot! P.S. and sorry my English. |

what about Blender? It even has CFD on Board (based on Lattice Bolzmann Method). It does not make sense to hope OpenFOAM(OF) can be used as Physics-Engine, OF has a different use. But again Blender should be your friend I guess http://www.wikihow.com/Use-Blender-Physics |
