Hi!

I am trying to generate a box shell (outer box with dimensions 6 by 6 by 10) and inner dimensions (5.5 by 5.5 by 10).

I have attached my blockMeshDict file, Geometry generated (of1.jpg), mesh generated (of2.jpg), and erroneous wall patch (of3.jpg).

What this does is it prescribes wall boundaries in the interior of the problem which isn't correct. I need to fix it.

Initially I tried to specifically specify faces with walls - no slip. But that gave me error of no neighbouring cells. I tried changing the ordering of my vertices with face definitions but it kept on giving me the same error. I have that commented out in the blockMeshDict file.

If someone could please help, I'd be really grateful.

Thanks,
Japan

Good morning,

You need more than 4 blocks to mesh that geometry in blockMesh. Interfaces between blocks should be matching, which they do not in the attached mesh.

Please see more on blockMesh in the UserGuide.

Kind regards,

Niels

Sir,

I tried it again, this time with matching internal faces but I still couldn't get rid of that effect. What should I do?

Is there a boundary condition like interior boundary - that way I could just specify those faces as interior.

Thanks!
