OpenFoam validation Example

hallo friends,
I am new in this group just recently joined . I am new to openFoam too.
I want to make some validation example of any type which describe fluid behavior ,forces acting to fluid and all. so can anybody give me some example of dam break, or fluid behavior in 2d or 3d bearing..
and I want to use openFOAM for this example.. so please share some validation example..thanks in advance

Hi,

Validation is nothing but the comparision of your practical values, analytical value and simulated (numerically computed) value.

I suggest you to start with the simple flow cases, like flow through a pipe, lid driven cavity flow etc., or otherwise, take a simple case of flow from your fluid-mechanics book and try to simulate in the software <OpenFOAM>.

compare the results given in your book and results obtained from the simulations. If results closely agree then your simulations are validated !!!
Enjoy !!;);)

Thanks and Regards,
Adarsh Tiwari

thanks adarsh for your reply.. if you have some simple example of simple flow(fluid) analysis then send me the folder I will change it with my value..
because in OpenFoam I don't know how to starts..
