Documentation about fvDOM is needed!

Dear all,

I'm in the need of getting the most accurate documentation about the implementation of the fvDOM method in OpenFOAM. I need to explain the theory behind the method used by the programme in my thesis but I can't find the proper documentation on my own. I've been searching all over the net and I have found a lot of good papers where the Discrete Ordinate Method is described. I also found a lot of documentation about the Finite Volumes Method for solving the RTE, both methods are meant to be very close one to another as far as I found. However, what leads me to a confussion is the name of the method within OpenFOAM: Finite Volume Discrete Ordinates Method. Is it a combination between both methods? How is it working actually?

Any hint you can give me or paper you can share with me will be of a huge help!

Many thanks in advance! :)

Alex
