Just an newbie question about steady-state solvers

Hi FOAMers!

This might be a newbie question, but I would be pleased if you can help....

Why do we need time step for steady-state solvers as simpleFoam?

I mean, in the Navier Stokes equations, time doesn't appear, so there are only iterations as SIMPLE algorithm says... So what is the meaning of time steps and delta t in controldict? Why do we have to specify a deltat?

Thank you very much indeed!!:D and sorry for my silly question

Hi Rubén,
In steady state solvers the time works as an iteration counter. So you always use 1 for the time step and endTime will correspond to maximum number of iterations that should be executed.
Best regards,
Paulo
