Finally!!!

The discussion forum is alive again.

The chalmers security group had somehow gotten the idea that the unusual amount of emails sent from this computer was because of a virus and decided to block it from the net.... without telling me I might add.

Hi all,

we're busy setting up a discussion site at CFD-Online to give Niklas' machine a rest and prevent any repeat of these problems.

We currently have a experimental phpBB board running with the same setup as this one and it will finally allow attachments! (and self-registration ;-)

We're not sure whether we can transfer any existing content but will look into it. Also probably users cannot be automatically transfered and you will have to register yourselves.

We'll keep you informed.

Hi,

will the future phpBB board be able to handle everything like a mail agent? I mean it would be helpfull to reply by mail with citing and direct responding to questions ...

Greetings!
Fabian

Dear All,

we switched the Forum board to use 'cron' based emailing. This means that posting will be much faster (the board does not have to wait until all emails have been sent) but the emails will get sent with a delay (probably a few minutes after posting)

(Test of attachment tmp.19729
)

Please let me know if there are any problems.

Dear all,

we've had some downtime on the forum due to two failed disks at CFD-online. It had to be restored from backup which meant that postings between 11 and 18 November got lost.

It is probably easiest if you repost any messages that didn't get through.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused,

Mattijs
