Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has seen or done any arterial flow (or general blood flow) modelling with Foam. I am going to try and use Foam for this application, so I just would like to know about any cases of this usage.

Any response would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Michael

Lots. Have a look at the presentation by
prof. Ivankovic's group from University College Dublin and the OpenFOAM Workshop in Zagreb in January 2006. I have been collaborating with them for a number of years now and this is just a part of their work with OpenFOAM. The following link contains the presentation slides.

If you'd like to know more, please give me a shout.

I'm doing quite a lot of biofluids work at the moment linking in with a tool for image-to-mesh conversion for generating patient-specific geometries (ScanIP/ScanFE from Simpleware Ltd). Unfortunately a. this is commercial rather than open source software and b. the only CFD output at the moment is to Fluent. However one of my long term aims is to rectify b. by getting an OpenFOAM mesh output module written.

Drop me a line if any of this interests you : g.r.tabor@ex.ac.uk
