There has been a fair amount of interest on the discussion forum concerning ships and waves over the past year. Is it time to give birth to the Ship Hydro Special Interest Group (SIG), and have a meeting at the Montreal Workshop this summer (June 4th is for SIG meetings)?
If you are interested, either send me an email (egpaterson at gmail dot com), or post your response here. If we can get a critical mass, then I will ask the organizers to make room for us. Also, in case you haven't seen it before, we've got a holding spot on the the wiki http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Sig_Ship_Hydrodynamics. If you are interested in participating, think about what you'd like to see from the SIG. Eric |

Eric,
I am also interested in using OpenFOAM for hydrodynamics, particularly submarine flows. Thanks! Ashish Nedungadi |

I am also very interested in using OpenFOAM for hydrodynamic applications. Unfortunately I would not be able to participate to the Montreal Workshop this summer.
It would be great to share advices about marine applications : - grid generation for free-surface flows - 'best' settings (fvSolution and FvSchemes) - a kind of guidelines Regards, Stephane. |

Please count me in.
Is there a contact institution or person for registering to the Montreal workshop? Would be great to know it in advance in order to proceed with travel arrangements. Cheers, Frank. |
