Hello Colleagues,

I would like to analyze a fan combined with a porous region. The fan should be modeled by means of a moving reference frame. I have found the solvers for mrf and porous media, but not a combination. Has this been done by anyone?
Any advice is welcome.

kind regards
Guido

You can create your own solver copying the few needed lines from one to the other.
For example, if you want to integrate MRF in porousSimpleFoam, you need the include file ("#include "MRFZones.H""), the object initialization ("MRFZones mrfZones(mesh); mrfZones.correctBoundaryVelocity(U);") and the source term for the momentum equation ("mrfZones.addCoriolis(UEqn());").
It should be enough...

Hope this helps,
Francesco

Dear Francesco,

Thanks for the reply.
I get the idea now.
