Multithreading with OpenFOAM

Hello,

i studied the UserGuide.pdf and one (i think important topic) is to use the multithreading ability of OpenFOAM. In the guide it is described for the example interFoam. Can I use the commandline:

"mpirun -np 4 (i have 4 cores) dieselFoam (e.g.) - parallel" for every calculation? Of course before split the files with decomposePar...

thanks for answers and sorry for my poor english ;)

Unless your grid is so small the communication overhead slows down the solution, I don't see a problem.

or you could use a shorter command for running in parallel.

foamJob -p icoFoam

This is an alias for the mpirun command and it also stores a log file. You can follow the contents of log file by "tailf"
