modeling pipe flow with strong surface tension
Dear OpenFOAM experts:
I would like to model a pipe flow with strong surface tension. The diameter of the pipe is 0.6 mm at 0.8 m/sec speed. liquid is water, hence the surface tension coef is 0.07. Wall contact angle is about 70 degree.
I ran the case using standard interFoam solver, but, the results are not quite what I expected. I was told that VOF cannot handle microfluidics flow with strong surface tension accurately. Does anyone come across research are in microfluidics (with liquid and air)? Any approached applied to overcome strong surface tension?
