TwoPhaseEulerFoam bed tutorial case stable in 1.5, crashes in 1.6

Hi,
I am having trouble with the solver twoPhaseEulerFoam in version 1.6.x. My cases now crashes frequently due to high volume fraction particles. This is both with and without kinetic theory. The same cases ran fine in 1.5. To illustrate the problem, try the 'bed' tutorial case, which crashes in 1.6.x and runs in 1.5.

From running diff on the source files, I can see that turbulence inclusion changed between the versions. And indeed, running with turbulence turned off, allows the 'bed'-case to finish.

Is anyone experiencing a change in stability for twoPhaseEulerFoam? Suggestions/explanations?

Best regards,
Rasmus

I've had the exact same problem. twoPhaseEulerFoam runs fine without the turbulence, but as soon as it is switched on it crashed after a few iterations. I tried the tutorial as well as more applied cases. Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to examine the problem further.

I assumed it was "SBS", but perhaps it wasn't so :)

Ok. Glad to hear I am not the only one. Since the tutorial case does not run, I will put this issue on the bugs forum.

I just ran bed in OF-1.6.x and it ran fine (with turbulence).
I guess there may have been git updates since you last compiled the solver?
