Hi Folks,
how most of you experienced it is no fun starting with OF since there is no real manual like for other Programms. I would like to start a collection of manuals/documentations so that it will be more easy to find things. I got so far: userguide and programmersguide here: http://www.opencfd.co.uk/openfoam/doc/index.html desciption of dieselfoamtut: http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kur...ered_NL_HN.pdf overview over classes and namespaces best with doxygen. overview (with short description) over solvers: http://www.opencfd.co.uk/openfoam/fe....html#features parafoam: http://www.paraview.org/ --------------- If i want to set up a case i need more detailed information as to: Which boundary conditions can i use & what do they mean ( my best shot so far): UG : 5.2.4 (here they tell you to look @ FOAM_SRC/finiteVolume/fields/fvpatchfields/derived , which is not where you find it in my OF :mad:. also finding the right file is still not usefull as you have an overview, but no comment to the correct use) Which are the correct values/boundarys in "0" (for p, u, T...) and how do they go with the boundary conditions ?? (now answer here, so far...) How do I use blockmesh (like setting up in polarcoordinates, ...) UG: 136 says --> OpenFoam1.6/cellmodells. Which is NOT usefull. and so on... i think it is really anoying that i have to gather pieces all the time...since i have read a hint about it somewhere, but there is no overview and no complete documentation to one topic.. A would like a proper manual a lot! A collection where to look things up would be a small improvement, which i am trying to make here. hope you participate! bg heavy |

But the doc. is not that great, which seems to be a fact (see "documantion project" threat). I did not dictate anyone something, i asked for contributions to my collection ( ok and i complained, sorry for that!)... And where is the dictating in "hope you participyte ! " ?? A proper doc is available for other cfd software.. and the software is not that great... I had to reply, sorry for that, so i could calm down a little... |
